February 19, 2009

NASHVILLE, TN - The inaugural meeting of the Association of Golf Clubfitting Professionals (AGCP) Tennessee Chapter was held in two fun and educational sessions on February 14, 2009 at Five Oaks Golf Club and Hugo Clubfitter’s golf shop in Lebanon, TN.

Tennessee clubfitters Gene Brosky, Jim Holley, John Huheey, and Dan Wilt attended the meeting.  Bob Uebelhor and Jerry Hoefling Sr., two of the leading clubfitters in the AGCP organization and Master Teachers at the AGCP seminars and conferences also attended the meeting and provided a number golf clubfitting and assembly tips and techniques. In the course of preparing for the round of golf Jerry Hoefling Sr. talked about the butt/mid/tip (BMT) shaft profiling system he developed and sells through the AGCP, driver length comparisons and counter balancing golf clubs.  John Huheey demonstrated a new extremely lightweight driver.

Back at Hugo’s golf shop, Bob Uebelhor gave a detailed presentation on putter fitting and bending specifications.  He also demonstrated a SwingRite golf swing trainer, showing the attendees how to use it to recognize the release point in a golfer’s swing using a visual and audible technique.  More information about the SwingRite, one of our newest AGCP Sponsors, is available at www.swingrite.com.

This inaugural event provided a great day of day of golf and educational opportunities for the members.

The TN Chapter of AGCP will plan additional events during 2009, and we invite other AGCP members in our area to join us for future meetings.  Feel free to contact Jim Holley at jdholley@comcast.net or 615-308-3359 for additional information and to be added to the AGCP Tennessee Chapter contact list.
